After 50 years of wear and tear, finding a '71-'74 AMX front grille that isn't broken is nearly impossible. That is until now! We are happy to introduce the world's first reproduction (that we know) of these beautiful grilles.
Our front grilles are made individually by hand, formed by fiberglass, resin, and other materials for an original look and appearance with great durability and strength.
Since each unit is made entirely by hand, there may be very small differences and/or imperfections from unit to unit or compared to an original grille. Each piece is fitted on our ’74 Javelin with factory specs to ensure profit fitment, however, some minor adjustments may be needed on your vehicle depending on its condition and fitment differences. PLEASE EXAMINE THE DETAILED PICTURES ON THIS PAGE BEFORE PURCHASING TO MAKE SURE THE QUALITY MEETS THE NEEDS OF YOUR PROJECT.
INSTALLATION NOTES: Our grilles and grille brackets come with undrilled mounting holes. This is because we have found that each car and each grille align with slight differences. You will need to align, mark, and drill holes in the grill mounting tabs as well as the brackets. See the installation video for installation reference.
The '71 Javelin front grille came with a signature style of two deep "pockets" with silver highlights and a bullseye emblem. The '71-'74 also used the same grille body known as the "tub" but featured a grille screen mounted on the front of it. The tubs on the AMX version were painted all black.
Our AMX grille tubs come with turn signal mounts pre-installed. Simply use your existing housing and lens. Holes are pre-drilled on the sides for the turn signal wires. As mentioned above, you will need to drill the holes for the mounting brackets so that you can get the fitment that may be unique to your car.

Recieved the new grille tub, looks great. Have not installed it yet, but it looks like it should fit right in there. Thank you.
Nice piece
Very well made. As Shawn T posted, very well packaged... Still in the process of mocking this up. I did get a bit impatient and broke a small piece of the fiberglass while massaging it over one of the front bumper mounts It will not be seen though. My only issue is that I am inexperienced with AMC parts and the previous owner removed all the mounting hardware other than the upper brace for a custom grille so having to do a bit of research. Several questions but that will come with time. Trying to be patient with it as I tend to rush things. My factory mesh grill fits well and all the parts line up well. It is not in great shape and will have to be rebuilt, but will be easy to mount. Now just need to source the housings for the running lights/turn signals....hint hint!!!
First Impressions
I was pleasantly surprised by how well this was packaged . Then as I unboxed the grill the quality revealed itself and I immediately had no regrets with my purchase. The fit and finish was everything I expected. The installation required patience and care not to scratch and damage anything during mock up. Everything was assembled slowly and loosely to verify everything before final Assembly. Once I was comfortable that everything was fitted and verified. The final assembly went smoothly. I definitely recommend this to my friends. Shawn
